These entries represent diffuse reflection nebulae which are illuminated by one or more background stars and, in other instances, by the integrated light of the Milky Way.vdB 18 is catalogued as Type II (star outside the nebulosity) and Surface brightness F (Faint). This nebula is rarely imaged (I can´t find any image.. just some widefield ones)..and never detailed. The central star is V496 Per -- Variable Star of alpha2 CVn type. The nebula is surrounded by dust ... dust everywhere from the Lynds Dark nebula LDN 1434 and Lynd´s Bright nebulas LBN 720 and 721.A dozen of galaxies emerge between dust.vdB 18 seems to be an open eye ..
